Stormpaw a jet black tom with dark gray paws and sky blue eyes ran from camp before anyone could see him. The young tom was trying to just get away to clear his head for a little while. It was always training for this or training for that. It was starting to get on the young toms nerves and he didn't want to snap at anyone by mistake. Soon Stormpaw found himself at woodpecker woods. He looked at all the big tree's and knew they were way bigger than himself. Stormpaw love to climb them some times and would watch the sun go down while alone. Stormpaw just wanted to think about his life as a warrior's apprentice. His whole family was dead and it was just him as well as Ravenpaw. But the bad thing about it the most was that Ravenpaw got injured the same day as his parents deaths. And that was all he could think about most days. But the clan had found a way for Ravenpaw to still be useful as the other tom had begged for the leader to find something for him besides going to the elder's den for the rest of his days. Stormpaw sighed sadly as he thought of that day. It was the day Ravenpaw was made Medicine cat apprentice and the day he lost the chance to be a warrior. Walking in the woods helped him to think and yet there was still a worry for Ravenpaw. Stormpaw sat down on the leaves and twigs on the ground to rest for a moment as he thought more about his life.

Owlstar's head lay on the gathering place as he watched the clan working. It wasn't everyday that the clan experienced such a calm time and thus Owlstar was resting, head on paws and eyes trialling after any cat that's movements seemed... odd. His lazy eye had wandered off into the distance, but but good eye forced on what was unmistakeably the black tom named Stormpaw. Owlstar thought back to when he had witness the death of to great Rockclan warriors, and the injury of an apprentice. His whiskers drooped as he watched the tom flee camp, and Owlstar remembered the day the younger tom-cat had come to him pleaded with him.
Owlstar had, had many ideas of what to do with Ravenpaw, some ideas including training the tom as a warrior regardless of his injury; putting the tom if the elder's den and not even the stray thought of the Medicine cat's apprentice position had crossed his mind. It wasn't until he lay down late at night did he think of the possibility of the position and had approached Maplestripe. He had swallowed some type of affection for the Medicine Cat and had asked her to take on Ravenpaw, should Starclan see it right. How could a tom such as himself not know if Ravenpaw was Medicine Cat material. He would have to check up with the tom soon.
He rose to his paws now, thinking it was hide-time that he go after Stormpaw. Leaping from the gathering place he landed with grace and he turned to his sister with a grin. 'I'm off to relocate our run away apprentice. Please inform me if anything goes wrong.' His sister nodded as she turned back to the deputy, who nodded as well and Owlstar padded out. His whiskers perked as they brushed against brushes and the such things as he left the camp. Standing outside the entrance he froze and lifted his maw to the sky before he took off after the scent of Smokepaw.
He arrived moments later in the forest, ears perked for the sound of cats, and only heard the woodpeckers pecking away. In awe of the sound Owlstar didn't noticed Stormpaw until the leader partially tripped over the younger tom. Landing flat on his face Owlstar's eyes widen and he quickly climbed to his paws. 'Stormpaw, are you alright my boy?' The older leader asked, trying to hide his ruffled embarrassment with a simple question directed at the younger cat.

Stormpaw had been so lost in thought that he didn't even notice that Owlstar was there until the older tom tripped over him. The young tom was very surprised to see his leader fall on his face and quickly get back to his paw before asking if Stormpaw was alright. Stormpaw frowned at the words "my boy" and wanted to glare at owlstar for even calling him that. But he sighed as everyone his whole life had called him my boy. It had just been a while since it was heard from anyone since the deaths of his parents. Stormpaw sat there for a while before finally saying "I"m doing fine sir......Just thinking about things." Stormpaw said with a frown. It was hard since Blackbird's and Nightfangs deaths and he liked to be alone sometimes. Other than spending time with the other apprentice's or going on patrol's with older clanmates it was always training or hunting. Stormpaw looked at the sky to see two bright star's and thought that maybe it was them looking after everyone. Stormpaw some times hoped that they watched over him and Ravenpaw, it was hard training alone without his brother by his side. Stormpaw thought for a moment and thought it might be smart to talk it out or maybe. He looked at Owlstar "I.....I was thinking about what happen." He said while looking at his leader hoping he'd understand.

Owlstar had probably touched a nerve, he usually did. Owlstar you see, was a older tom - in his fifty-ninth moon and had grown to calling cats much younger then him, 'my boy' or 'young lady' and had made a few more of his younger clan members view him as un-leadership like. Of course many had voiced their discomfort and he had continued his act of calling them such names purely out of habit.
'I'm doing fine sir...... Just thinking about things.' Ah, the dreaded 'things' Owlstar knew of such things, growing up he had many things, himself to think of. From the constant standing up for his sister and mother, to the own bullying that brought him down, he had thought many times of many different outcomes. His mind drifted to when he, himself had been apprentice and thinking of nothing better then to run away and let the bullies win, but his mentor had been firm and he had saw the light and grasped it.
It was probably the only reason he was still here today. 'I...I was thinking about what happened.' Owlstar felt something akin to sorrow for the boy. He had lost not only his parents, but a companionship of his brother; something Owlstar had not lost. Sure, his father had vanished and then his mother had passed with grief of what she had done, but he had always had Swallowflight, and for that he was most grateful. Owlstar's eyes forced on the younger tom, a rare sight since one usually wandered off, but with most consecrations, Owlstar was able to keep his eyes on the younger boy.
'I can not bare to understand, Stormpaw. But I am here - not only as your leader, but as a friend should you need it.' He meowed softly, fluffy grey-white tail resting on the younger apprentice's shoulder. 'I know the pain of losing parents, but not to the extent of your pain.' With a soft brush of his tail Owlstar brought it back to wrap around his paws, that intense stare losing it's intensity as his eye wandered.

Stormpaw looked at his leader with the thought that someone actually seem to care. It had been a while seen anyone other than Ravenpaw had showed him some kind of comfort or cared enough to follow after him to see what was bothering the young apprentice. He may not like to listen to the other warriors most of the time. But he would listen to his leader or maybe he should say his friend Owlstar. Stormpaw didn't know what to think some times of the older tom and would like to know more about his leader. Stormpaw looked in the direction of the leader's gaze to see what owlstar was looking at. It was odd for Stormpaw to be curious about something that another was looking at. The young apprentice tilt his head to the see wondering what was so interesting to the old leader. Stormpaw than looked at his paw's "thanks...I'll keep that in mind Owlstar" he said frowning a little "why do you think it happen though" he finally asked the one question that has bothered him for moons.
