Dawn was far from breaking.
The forest of Frostclan was heavy with the mist of twilight, the sharp strains of moon filtering threw caught on the moments of shadows and the even faint trace of prey and predator. The night air was crisp and cool compared to it's hotter and muggier companion, day. But the crisp air was good for the prey that lurked in the forest, it brought upon a time of great harvest and better times for gathering compared to when the predators were out and about during the day. But that was not the case here, an owl hooted in the distance, casting it's mighty shadow on the forest floor as it sweep over the forest of mist. It's hoots a warning to prey to beware, but his talons ready to capture the stray mouse that harvested at this time.
But that was not the only predator out and about. The twilight air brought about the figure of a feline. It's massive shadow cast upon the forest floor as it glided through the forest, it's paws pressing slightly and quietly onto the soft soil. Dew that had collected on the brushes an blades of grass made the feline's long coat damp. But that wasn't all that there. Cat lengths away lay a small nestle of mice. Two large furry white mice that nibbled on the seeds of the poppies that grew wild here. The thought of a shortage came to mind, and the feline dropped into a hunter's crouch, his belly fur only lightly dusting the ground. Paws creeping forward the tom inched closer until his breath seemed to be the loudest thing.
One of the mice paused in it's nibbling to turn it's mighty white head towards his direction. A single paw was placed in the moonlight that coated the small clearing and the mouse seemed to have noticed. The other mouse seemed to have taken notice of it's companions unease and turned it's beady little black eyes towards the tom. He drew in a breath, the air seemingly hotter as his green eyes flashed. In that moment he leap, paws crashing down as the mice sensed the danger a moment to late, and both were captured under the large paws of the tom.
'Got you both.' He purred, as his jaws came down upon the large white mice, killing both instantly. He released their tails upon the last of their jerking motions. His whiskers twitched with delight as he stared up at the falling moon, it's glow casting a cool light over his tabby brown and white pelt, making his green eyes shine brightly. Bending down he picked up the mice and pondered once more why he didn't just eat one now, he would when he returned to camp. His nose wrinkled at that nasty thought as he swiped dirt over his catch, ears perked for the sounds of the owl that had done it's routine sweep of the forest.
His jaws parted as he scented the air, and only then did he catch the scent of another cat. His ears perked as his claws slide from their place in his paws. His body crouched down low as he guarded not only his catch but the clan that he had come to call his home. He was Billy, a warrior of Frostclan.

Icestar lays awake in her large den. The night was cool, a slight breeze travels through the forest, and into her den, making Icestar shiver. The she-cat did not fare as well in the cold as the rest of the clan seems to be. Plus, Icestar was having troubles falling asleep, the cold breeze just making it worst. The white she-cat flipped over, trying to find a more comfortable position, to no avail. The small cat decided to get up, she was so tired, but sleep just would not come. Maybe I should get a drink.
Making her way out of camp, Icestar tried to make as little noise as possible. She did not want to worry her family and friends, or wake them up. Dawn had not even arrived yet, but the forest was alive. Icestar understood that there are nocturnal animals, but it does not mean she understands it. The fluffy she-cat starts walking again, her body feeling more relaxed with every step she takes. Why can’t I fall asleep today!?. Her bright but pale green eyes shine in the dark night, her body was alert to any sound, her eyes focused for any movement.
Icestar was glad the clan was doing so well, especially since they are so low on apprentices. Icestar new that kits would be born this year, she just hopes they are all healthy so that one day they become warriors. By the time Icestar stopped walking, she noticed she had reached the edge of mist forest. This wasn’t the cat’s favorite area, mostly due to the fact that the constant fog makes it hard to see. And no, she wasn’t afraid of the “dark”, it just made her feel vulnerable when she can’t see twenty fox tails ahead of her.
The female had no idea how some of her clan mates seemed so successful at hunting here. She’s glad for their hunting abilities, and that this land actually seems useful. Sitting down Icestar sighs. The sun was finally rising, the sky glowing a beautiful pink and orange. And as the light breeze ruffled her pelt one more time, Icestar was sure she smelled blood, much like fresh kill. Taking another sniff Icestar could also scent another cat…Billy?. Icestar slowly made her way to the scent, and that where she saw the tom, with two freshly killed mice. Smiling she sat down across from the large tom. ”Well, well, I guess you could not sleep tonight? I myself was having troubles and decided to go for a walk.” Icestar looked at the sky, the sun rising higher and higher, the clan cats would be waking up soon, everyone ready for their jobs of hunting and patrolling. ”Nice catch, by the way, how on earth can you see the mice in this fogginess?”.

The scent of the feline, slightly masked by the misty air, froze the monster of a cat as his paws pressed deeper into the soft soil. His ears perked more so, as they twitched in the direction and his body released the tension that had built in his fright. His warm eyes grew with respected and happiness at the fact that the cat before him was a Frostclan cat, a pretty one at that. The white she-cat, he could now tell clearly, no more guessing, was more then just a normal she-cat of the clan, in fact she was none other then Icestar, leader of the clan.
'Well, well, I guess you could not sleep tonight? I myself was having troubles and decided to go for a walk." Billy nodded, as his eyes lifted with Icestar's, seeing the rays of sunlight break threw the misty coverage. The hooting that had stirred him into action had long since vanished and his own ears had not noticed. This troubled him some. 'Nice catch, by the way, how on earth can you see the mice in this fogginess?' His tail curled, as his paws came to swipe more dirt over the mice, his whiskers twitching in amusement. How indeed.
'Senses, Icestar. I do enjoy hunting here, since it is cool and refreshing so I have long since learned to sharpen my gaze." A smile graced his face as he rose to his full height, and stretched - the chill of the foggy morning clung to his aging bones, but it would be a long time still before he felt the pain intensely. 'What has troubled you that you have not found sleep this night?' He asked politely, the offer to refuse was hanging in the air, tho not spoken, as the older and larger tom cat tilted his head curiously.
((ooc: I'm really sorry it's short.))
