History:
while the ones she question were happy to give her the answers she wanted, they would get annoyed when her only reply was 'why?'. her curious glaze would land her in trouble whenever she would go about sniffing the leader's den and later be found asking the medicine cat 'what are poppy seeds?' it was indeed amusing to many, annoying to more but heart-warming to all. robinkit was so distant in her own mind and world that she only acknowledged her brother once in a while, and when time came that the winter chills were only days away, robinkit would huddle beside her mother and brother and ask questions on why it was so cold.
she felt something akin to sorrow when in that first moon of leaf-bare a deep freeze came, her father was taken in the night, his whiskers frozen and his breath gone. she questioned why he had stopped breathing. the medicine cat took notice in the three moon old kit and decided that in those moments she would answer all the questions she could. mousewhisper was a sweet little she-cat, a new medicine cat herself after the death of her mentor ten moons earlier. mousewhisper welcomed the help the little kit gave, and thus robinkit learned of poppy seeds, marigold and even cob webs. she learned the basics, something every cat could understand quickly. it was when she awoke one morning to coldkit having seemed frozen and chilled, did mottledpelt push robinkit away.
upset by her mother pushing her away robinkit spent the nearly two weeks with mousewhisper. mottledpelt went into the forest one morning and did not return until her fur seemed to have frozen in place, her jaws parted and everything seemed covered in ice. it was after that one moon of ice and cold that the warmth began to return. she had been left of milk, but the nursery was no longer her home. the clan would find the she-cat in the medicine cat's den, helping with sick cats and wounds. it wasn't long until the medicine cat took her on as her apprentice and mousewhisper and robinpaw became a team to be reckon with.
the first moon of training was quite intense for the little apprentice. her questions were hushed by the medicine cat whose gentle voice coached her into simply doing, reacting first, before putting logic and question to it. to many, when they first entered the medicine cat's den, they had been shocked to see the usual question-filled she-cat quiet, simply reacting to the injured and helping them. the moon of silence many cats whispered to each other, and they knew that some good things must come to an end. robinpaw was eight moon officially when her questions spew from her mouth. mousewhisper's meows of laughter could be heard for days after, when one morning robinpaw's face got real frustrated and suddenly she started to question everything she had not gotten too.
that was the moon robinpaw finally got to go to the medicine cat meeting. originally she was suppose to go the other two moons, but sickly cats made that nearly impossible for her to leave. upon arriving at moonpool, she felt prickles run along her spin and there her mentor spoke to starclan about taking her on as an apprentice. robinpaw at the end of the speech questioned why mousewhisper needed to ask the ancestors for permission, couldn't she just choose an apprentice and be done with it? she learned that day, that many things should be left unsaid. Marshclan's medicine cat hissed at her, calling her a non-believer before they all drank in the cool liquid and slept on.
she met starclan that night as they welcomed her into the apprenticeship, amused by her questioning and she began to ask them questions. simple ones of; who are you? what clan? was your death nature of caused? these ruffled the ancestors and with parking words they whispered; wisely question those who you dim unworthy.' she arrived in camp to find her clan sleeping and mousewhisper meowing that they should get a head start on the following day. she would agree, eyes floating around camp as she took the leader his poppy seeds. the leader, lizzardstar, had pulled a muscle hunting and needed the beautiful seeds every couple hours.
this was their first ... encounter. robinpaw had passed the poppy seeds that morning to the hurt leader, and it was in those moments where he had grumpily replied thank you, that sparked off robinpaw's questions. 'shouldn't you be kinder to your medicine cat.' thus began their playful batter, ( it would continue until lizzardstar's death bed, where he playfully and wistfully whispered that she shouldn't wait up, and even into her dreams, where her mate would yowl that he had waited ages for her to get there. ) that blossomed them from the simple co-worker relationship to that of friends, and she was nothing but a nine moon old apprentice. many cats questioned lizzardstar's motives when they saw little robinpaw bouncing over and quizzing the older tom, and the only cat who seemed to snap at them was mousewhisper, 'leave them... would you rather robinpaw question you?'
so her twelve moon rolled past and robinpaw watched as the world seemed to slowly tick. her paws kneading the ground and her relationship with the leader growing closer and closer. she seem to always find herself with the tom by her side and the two would share their stories of the day. in meetings, he asked robinpaw her opinion and she gladly announced it. however when she was fifteen moons, a small border scuffle in which she had been on the patrol sent her into a status of shock. cats were flying at each other, and she watched at lizzardstar and a bulky cat went at it. her heart dropped when the cat was pinned down by lizzardstar and only with her yowl of no, did her leader stop. 'robinpaw! watch out!' was his response and then robinpaw remembered no more.
they told her later that night that lizzardstar had attacked the tom that had knocked her out, in a fit of rage. robinpaw worried for both the tom that had been attacked by lizzardstar, and the leader himself, spotted the leader sheepishly laying in his nest. anger seemed to fill her as she stormed over, slightly off balance. her anger was clear as she yowled at the tom for blindly going after a tom she could of handled, or another cat could of handled. in the end she landed in a heap by the tom, curled up tight to him whispering worries to him. that was how the two found themselves in love with the other.
two moons later robinpaw earned her full warrior name of robinsong.
a moon after that, at the nice age of twenty-seven moons lizzardstar started to give her mini training lessons. the basics of how to fight and how to hunt in case the clan needed every member. mousewhisper was annoyed her apprentice had vanished at odd hours of the day and night. this continued until robinsong became pregnant at thirty-seven moons, and two moons later she gave birth to five kits. while the clan was overjoyed at the news of kits, there was great sorrow when two of the five kits came out stillborns. grieving robinsong and lizzardstar named the two deceased she-kits dappledkit and lilykit in honor of lizzardstar's mother and deceased sister. the remaining kits, a grey tom named rock-kit, a dark grey she-cat named crowkit and lastly a bulky black tom named batkit. she loved her kits dearly.
that was why her heart broke when rockkit, newly named rockpaw, died from an adder bite, and she could not save him. the next leaf-bare her mentor passed on from green cough in the dead of the night. it was tragic. thus she began to work hard. it was not long before she met the future icestar, and her trust in the young warrior came with a few questions an thus when the young she-cat answered them to robinsong's liking she spoke of great interest in the she-cat. so when icestar was made deputy under robinsong's mate, robinsong only felt slightly worried, and thus she should of been. it was also the time of sorrow when crowkit - a warrior by the name of crowflight, passed away from a fall. batpelt's surprise kits were a great joy, two bundles of joy. but all things turn sour once more when her mate grew ill and she watched as he passed into starclan. whispering to her 'don't keep me waiting robinsong.'
batpelt's kits were apprenticed, robinsong was happy for her grandchildren.
